About the Item

【静かに凛とする――Kid Mohair Tropical by 葛利毛織】

その生地は、指先を滑らせるだけで伝わる。
しなやかで、張りがあり、芯があるのに軽やか。
いくつもの矛盾を内包しながら、すべてが調和している。

itochiが幾度も手に取り、袖を通し、服としての可能性を確かめてきた素材──
Super100sウールとキッドモヘヤを用いた「モヘヤトロピカル」。

この生地は、尾州にある老舗機屋・葛利毛織（かつりけおり）によって、今もなおションヘル織機という旧式の力織機で、ゆっくりと織り上げられています。

【Super100s × Kid Mohair──上質な獣毛の混合による構造美】

・Super100s Wool（スーパーハンドレッド）
細く、しなやかで、肌への刺激が限りなく少ない高品質ウール。繊維径は約17.5ミクロン。繊細なドレープを生む柔らかさと、身体に馴染むしっとりとしたぬめり感が特徴です。

・Kid Mohair（キッドモヘヤ）
アンゴラヤギの中でも、生後1年未満の仔山羊から採取される極上繊維。
繊維はしっかりとしたコシがありながら、シルクのような滑らかさと光沢を併せ持ち、空気をはらんで立ち上がるような軽さとハリ感を生み出します。

この2種の繊維が交わることで、
・湿度を感じさせないさらりとしたタッチ
・輪郭を保つ構築力
・陰影を描く自然なドレープ
といった、“動く布”としての理想的な特性が引き出されています。

この生地を織るションヘル織機は、現代の高速織機のような効率はありません。
しかし、1本1本の経糸にかかるテンションが穏やかで、繊維への負担が少ないことから、糸の自然な膨らみと立体感を損なうことなく織り上げることができます。

1日にわずか十数メートルしか織れないその速度は、まさに「素材が持つ本来の表情」を引き出すための余白。
その余白こそが、モヘヤトロピカル特有のやわらかくも芯のある布面構造を生み出します。

この生地の表面に現れる光沢は、いわゆる“華やか”な艶とは異なります。

Supple yet structured, firm yet weightless—
This fabric embodies contradictions that coexist in perfect harmony.

A material itochi has returned to again and again—testing, tailoring, and exploring its possibilities:
The Kid Mohair Tropical, woven from Super100s wool and kid mohair.

Produced by the long-established mill Katsurikeori in Bishu, this fabric is still woven today on traditional shonheru shuttle looms—machines that weave not with speed, but with care.

【Super100s × Kid Mohair – Structural Beauty from Natural Luxury】
• Super100s Wool
A high-quality wool with a fiber diameter of approximately 17.5 microns. Famed for its softness and refined drape, it caresses the skin with a moist, almost fluid touch, and clings gently to the body’s contours.
• Kid Mohair
Sourced from the under-one-year-old Angora goat, this rare fiber combines the luster and smoothness of silk with a natural springiness. It captures air, offering both volume and an uplifting lightness.

The fusion of these two natural fibers yields a fabric with:
• A dry, breathable hand that resists humidity
• Structural integrity that holds its silhouette
• A drape that shifts and shadows with movement

Only a handful of meters can be woven per day—yet it is this very slowness that brings out the fabric’s true character.
The result is a textile with a quiet core and supple surface: not flat, but softly contoured like a breath captured in cloth.

the fabric breathes—rising from its woven state into garments that live and move.
