From waist to hem, fine pleats run vertically—at first appearing uniform, but midway through, they split and reverse their folds, creating a strikingly dimensional form.

This split in the pleats is not only a visual detail. It introduces a sense of randomness to the skirt’s movement, allowing it to flutter organically with each step.
Traditionally, it’s nearly impossible to apply such narrow pleats straight down onto a radial skirt pattern—but by “increasing the number of pleats halfway through,” itochi has devised a solution that enables this fluid and sculptural expression.
