一見すると、上質なレザーのような光沢と質感。
けれどこのジャンパースカートに使われているのは、動物性の革ではなく、
尾州・葛利毛織工業が生み出した「織物のレザー」とも呼べる革新素材です。

尾州の中でも、葛利毛織は旧式シャトル織機「ションヘル」を用いた、
丁寧で時間をかけた生地づくりで知られるテキスタイルメーカー。
この一着には、そんな葛利毛織が“織機から生み出したレザー調ファブリック”が贅沢に使われています。

素材の要となるのが「チンツ加工」。
高温の熱と圧力で生地表面を圧縮・平滑にすることで、
まるでレザーのような艶と、なめらかなタッチを与える仕上げです。

通常はコットン生地に施されることが多いチンツ加工を、
細くしなやかなウール素材へ特別な工程で応用。
ウール本来のしなやかさと、上品な光沢感を一段と引き立てることで、

one of the most respected mills in Bishu, one of the world’s three major wool-producing regions.
This is “woven leather”—a material that merges the presence of leather
