日本有数の毛織物産地・尾州でつくられたウール生地に、独特の艶を与えるチンツ加工。

一見するとレザーを思わせる深い光沢がありながら、その正体はあくまで「織物」です。

光を受ける角度、身体の動き、合わせる服によって、黒の中にさまざまな表情が立ち上がります。

そして、この生地を特別なものにしているのは、見た目だけではありません。

チンツ加工に使用されていた大型機械はすでに廃棄されており、同じ方法でこの生地を再生産することはできません。itochi自身も、この生産背景の消失について公式に記録しています。

ブランド側にも同生地の在庫は残っておらず、VICICAに残っているのは現在この一着のみ。

単に「残り一着」ということではなく、
次の一着を仕入れることのできない服です。

itochiは、日本のファッションブランド。

明確な一つのコンセプトで服を括るのではなく、

Collection｜失われた技術から生まれた生地

このジャンパースカートに使われているのは、itochiが「shuttle loom fabric」と呼ぶシリーズの生地。

尾州で織られた毛織物にチンツ加工を施し、織物でありながらレザーを思わせる艶を生み出しています。

チンツ加工は、生地表面を圧迫することで独特の光沢をつくる加工。

単純に光沢素材を使うのではなく、ウールという本来柔らかな印象を持つ素材に、人工的とも感じられる強い艶を与える。

柔らかさと硬質さ。
織物とレザー。
自然なものと人工的なもの。

itochiが大切にする「相反するものが混ざっている」という感覚が、素材そのものの中にあります。

しかし、このチンツ加工を行っていた大型機械は2022年に廃棄。

itochiも公式に、同じ生地の再生産はできないと説明しています。

だからこの服には、現行品とは少し違う時間が流れています。

新しく生産して増やすことのできる商品ではありません。

深く切り込んだキーネックから、身体を縦に流れるようにつながるジャンパースカート。

生地そのものに強い個性がある一方で、デザインは過度に装飾しすぎていません。

だからこそ、光沢、陰影、身体の動きによる生地の変化が自然と目に入ります。

一枚で完成させるというよりも、中に何を合わせるかによって表情を変えていく服。

シアーなトップス。

白いシャツ。

薄手のニット。

あるいはカットソー。

インナーを変えることで、一着の中にいくつもの季節とスタイルをつくることができます。

Fabric｜布なのに、レザーのように見える

この服の中心にあるのは、やはり生地です。

レザーのような艶を持ちながら、本革ではない。

織物だからこそ生まれる柔らかさ、ドレープ、光の揺らぎが残っています。

真正面から見ると静かな黒。

身体が動けば、表面に光が走る。

光源が変われば、黒の濃淡まで変わって見える。

写真だけで完全に伝えることが難しい生地だからこそ、実物を見たときの印象が大きい一着でもあります。

着用後は軽くブラッシングし、湿気を逃してから保管することで、生地をより良い状態で長く楽しんでいただけます。

A. 本革ではありません。ウールをベースとした織物にチンツ加工を施し、レザーを思わせる艶を表現した生地です。

A. 現在のところ再入荷はできません。この生地に使用されていたチンツ加工機はすでに廃棄されており、itochiも同じ生地の再生産ができないことを公表しています。

けれど、この服にはそれができません。

生地をつくるために必要だった加工機そのものが、もう存在しないからです。

新しくつくれない。

ブランドにも生地が残っていない。

VICICAに残っているのは、この一着。

だから「最後だから」という理由だけで価値をつけているわけではありません。

この服が生まれた背景、その技術が存在した時間、そして今ではもう再現できなくなったこと。

This is not simply a garment that has reached its final piece.

It is a garment made from a fabric that can no longer be reproduced in the same way.

The wool textile was produced in Bishu, one of Japan’s most important wool-weaving regions, and finished with a chintz process that creates an unusually deep, leather-like sheen.

Although its surface may resemble leather at first glance, it remains a woven textile.

The softness of cloth and the hard visual impression of leather coexist within a single material.

The large-scale machine once used for this chintz finishing process was disposed of in 2022, and itochi states that the same fabric can no longer be reproduced.

There is no remaining fabric available from the brand, and this is currently the final piece held by VICICA.

It would therefore be inaccurate simply to describe it as “the last one.”

Once this piece leaves VICICA, we cannot order another.

About itochi

itochi is a Japanese fashion brand founded in Tokyo in 2018.

Rather than defining its clothing through one fixed concept, the brand works according to several creative principles, including creating a sense of excitement, allowing room for interpretation, encouraging communication, and finding beauty in the coexistence of opposing elements.

In 2022, the brand moved its base to Ichinomiya in Aichi Prefecture, within the Bishu textile region.

Fabric

The most important element of this piece is the fabric itself.

A chintz finish gives the wool textile a distinctive sheen reminiscent of leather.

Yet because it remains woven cloth, its surface moves differently from leather.

Light travels across it as the body moves.

From one angle, it appears almost quietly black.

From another, the surface catches the light and reveals a much more complex texture.

The finishing equipment that made this particular expression possible no longer exists.

This means that the value of the fabric lies not only in its appearance, but also in the production history behind it.

Design

A deep key neckline creates a strong vertical line while leaving space for layering underneath.

The design does not compete with the fabric.

Instead, the silhouette acts almost as a frame, allowing the sheen and movement of the textile to remain the visual focus.

Can this item be restocked?
No. The finishing machinery required to reproduce this fabric has already been disposed of, and the same textile cannot be reproduced through the original process.

Is this the only one in the world?
Previously sold pieces may still exist, so we do not describe it as the only piece in existence. However, VICICA currently holds only this final piece, and another one cannot simply be reordered.

Why is this piece priced differently now?
The current value reflects not only the garment itself, but also the loss of the original production process, the impossibility of reproducing the same fabric, its present availability, and the fact that this is the final piece held by VICICA.

Closing

Most clothes can be made again.

Fabric can be reordered.
Another garment can be sewn.
Another piece can arrive at the store.

This one cannot.

The machinery behind the fabric is gone.

The brand no longer holds the material.
